Why we care:
Education – especially for women and girls – transforms lives and communities
Educating girls specifically has enormous and far-reaching benefits. It reduces rates of child marriage, promotes healthier and smaller families, improves wages and jobs for women, and empowers women to become leaders at community and government levels
But around the world, nine million girls of primary school age will never start school or set foot in a classroom. This compares to about three million boys.

Incredible India... we bring a meditation and spiritual retreat through volunteering in India
We are excited that you are interested in joining us on this important mission as it for those interested in making an impact for women of the future.
In many rural areas of India, women have limited access to education and face many social and economic barriers. Lack of education means they are not equipped with the necessary skills to break out of poverty and build a better future for themselves and their families.
Our mission is to empower these women by providing them with access to education and the necessary tools to succeed. We believe that education is the key to unlocking a better future for these women and their families.
As a volunteer, you will have the opportunity to work directly with these women, teaching them basic literacy, numeracy, and computer skills. You will also be working with local organizations and schools to help establish long-term education programs for these women.
Our volunteer program is designed to provide you with a meaningful and rewarding experience. You will have the opportunity to work closely with local communities, learn about Indian culture, and make a positive impact on the lives of these women.
We welcome volunteers from all backgrounds and skill levels. Whether you are a teacher, student, or professional, we believe that you can make a valuable contribution to our program. If you are interested in volunteering with us, please fill out our volunteer application form.
. We look forward to working with you to empower women in villages in India through education.

EduAction recognises that access to education can be a significant barrier for young people, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds. That's why we have developed programmes to support students in accessing the education they need to achieve their goals.
Our volunteers work closely with local schools and community organisations to identify young people struggling with their studies due to financial or other barriers. Our programmes provide resources such as books, stationery, and tuition to help these students achieve their full potential.
We understand that every student is unique, and that's why we offer tailored support to each individual. For Sooraj, this meant providing him with access to local tuition after working with him on a 12 day volunteering programme with a therapeutic approach as he was illiterate when we met him.
In addition to our educational support, our volunteers also work to build strong relationships with the young people we work with after leaving india. We believe that providing a supportive, positive environment can help young people develop the confidence and skills they need to succeed in all areas of their lives.
Our volunteers are passionate about making a positive impact in the world and are dedicated to supporting young people to achieve their full potential.
Through our programmes, we are helping to create a brighter future for individuals, families, and communities across the UK and beyond.

DownloadBackground:
We are dedicated to promoting awareness and empowerment regarding mental health among young people in collaboration with our esteemed charity partner, Sewa. Together, we strive to create lasting change by implementing comprehensive programmes in schools, engaging with parents, and empowering communities.
In the UK, there is a significant lack of mental health resources, awareness, and developing support systems. Unfortunately, a pervasive societal stigma is often attached to mental health issues. Individuals who express their struggles or seek help are sometimes looked down upon, with misguided beliefs that they are weak or lacking in strength.
Recognising these challenges, EduAction and Sewa are determined to break down barriers and transform the landscape of mental health support in the UK. Through our collaborative efforts, we work tirelessly to bridge the gap and provide young people the necessary resources and tools to address their mental health concerns.
In schools, our programmes fill the void by integrating mental health education into the curriculum, addressing students' lack of awareness and knowledge. We strive to create safe spaces where young individuals can openly discuss their emotions, find support, and learn effective coping strategies. By equipping them with these skills, we empower them to navigate the complexities of mental health in a supportive environment.
Our initiatives also extend to engaging with parents and families, as we understand the crucial role they play in supporting the mental well-being of their children. Through workshops and training sessions, we provide parents with the knowledge and tools necessary to create a nurturing and understanding atmosphere at home. By fostering open communication and dispelling misconceptions, we aim to break down societal stereotypes and encourage a compassionate approach to mental health.
Within communities, we endeavour to raise awareness and create a culture of acceptance. Our awareness campaigns, interactive sessions, and peer support networks are designed to destigmatise mental health concerns and encourage individuals to seek help without fear of judgment. Through community engagement, we hope to cultivate an environment where mental well-being is prioritised and individuals are supported on their journey to recovery and resilience.
EduAction and Sewa firmly believe that no individual should face the challenges of mental health alone. We provide young people with the necessary resources, mentorship programmes, and online platforms to actively manage their mental well-being. By fostering a sense of empowerment, we help them build resilience, develop self-care practices, and access support when needed.
With your support, we can make a significant impact on the mental health landscape in the UK. Join us in breaking the silence, challenging societal norms, and creating a compassionate society where individuals are uplifted rather than judged. Together, we can transform the narrative surrounding mental health and ensure that every young person receives the support they deserve.
Thank you for joining us on this transformative journey.
